According to the Migration Policy Institute (PSI), in 2020, there are 1,770,000 Haitians living in only 10 countries in North America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe. According to Migration for Development and Equality (MIDEQ), in 2020, women represented 56% of internal migration and 46% of external migration. This massive migration is a process undermined by violence.
